Fishing

Ironman AIO trains Fishing from level 1 on its own: it fetches its own tools, buys rods and feathers with coins, and moves on to Tempoross once you are high enough. It can also collect a set number of raw fish for later (karambwan included), and cook them when it’s done.

The quickest way to use it is Auto with a level range. Pick Collect when you want a stack of fish rather than levels.

Method What it does Needs
Auto Small net fishing, then fly fishing, then solo Tempoross, by level Nothing to start
Solo Tempoross Plays Tempoross alone 35 Fishing
Mass Tempoross Plays Tempoross with other players on world 422 35 Fishing
Collect Catches one kind of fish until you own the amount you ask for That fish’s Fishing level
Any (per account) Small net fishing, then fly fishing, with switch levels chosen per account Nothing to start

Every method except Collect takes a level range: the task stops when Fishing reaches the “To” level. Collect has no level range, only an amount.

Fishing Trawler isn’t in the Fishing list. It’s a separate task under Minigames.

Auto picks the method from your current Fishing level and switches by itself as you level up:

Fishing level Method
1-19 Small net fishing
20-49 Fly fishing
50+ Solo Tempoross (members only)

Tempoross needs membership, so on a free-to-play account Auto keeps fly fishing from 50 to your goal.

The task is done when Fishing reaches your “To” level. If that happens in the middle of a Tempoross game, it finishes the game first.

Auto has no location picker. Each account settles on its own spot from the ones it can use, and keeps it. A spot that unlocks later only takes over if it’s that account’s preferred one.

Spot Method Members Combat level Other
Lumbridge Swamp Small net No 3
Al Kharid Small net No 3
Catherby Small net Yes 30 Walks along the beach to find the spot
Lumbridge Fly fishing No 3
Barbarian Village Fly fishing No 1
Seers’ Village Fly fishing Yes 30
Shilo Village Fly fishing Yes 30 Needs Shilo Village
  1. It takes your small fishing net from the bank. If you don’t own one, it picks up the net that spawns in Lumbridge Swamp, hopping worlds if it’s been taken.
  2. It nets at its spot until the inventory is full.
  3. It banks everything except the net at the nearest bank and walks back.
  1. It takes your fly fishing rod and feathers from the bank. With no rod, it buys one from Gerrant’s fishing shop in Port Sarim (5 coins).
  2. It works out how many feathers the rest of the goal needs (one per catch, counting each catch as a trout), adds a margin that differs per account, and buys the shortfall from Gerrant. If it needs 100 or more and has at least 200 coins it buys feather packs and opens them. Otherwise it buys up to 50 feathers at a time. Under Auto, only feathers for levels up to 50 are counted, since Tempoross takes over there.
  3. It fishes until the inventory is full, then banks the raw trout and salmon.

From level 50, Auto plays solo Tempoross. Auto doesn’t show the Tempoross settings, so this stage uses the defaults: it never spends reward permits, doesn’t hop worlds, doesn’t open caskets or upgrade to the spirit angler outfit, and takes buckets at the end of each game. If you want rewards, add a Solo Tempoross task for that level range instead.

Both need 35 Fishing and membership; on a free-to-play account the task waits with “Solo Tempoross needs membership.” (or Mass). Solo plays alone in your own game. Mass hops to world 422 and joins the shared boat.

  • Bank trip. It brings the best harpoon you own that your Fishing level can use, and wields it if your Attack level allows. It wears any spirit angler or angler pieces you own, and graceful in the slots they don’t cover. It also brings an Imcando hammer or a hammer, a rope (skipped once you own the full spirit angler outfit) and buckets. Solo carries 7 buckets. Mass carries 3 to 5, a number fixed per account. It takes buckets of water if you have enough banked.
  • It wants 18 free inventory slots before boarding and banks if it doesn’t have them.
  • It waits by the lobby ladder until run energy is at least 50%.
  • Solo uses the ladder’s solo start. Mass climbs aboard on world 422 and fills its buckets at the boat’s water pump.

You don’t need to own the tools. Anything missing (harpoon, hammer, rope, buckets) is taken from the crates in the game.

It catches harpoonfish, cooks them at the shrine and loads them into the cannon. It ties itself to the mast or totem when a wave comes, repairs them, douses fires with buckets of water and steps around hazards. When Tempoross is vulnerable, it harpoons the spirit pool. With a dragon or similar harpoon wielded, it uses the harpoon’s special attack while fishing.

A solo game it judges it can’t win, such as a bad start or intensity climbing too high, is forfeited and a new one started. A mass game with no other players left is abandoned too.

Setting What it does
Cook Fish (Mass only) On: cooks the fish before loading them, for more reward permits. Off: loads them raw, for more XP.
Take Buckets Before leaving a game, fills the free inventory slots with buckets. They’re banked afterwards, which is handy for sandstone or other bucket needs.
Upgrade Spirit Angler Once you have 1,200 spirit flakes and the matching angler piece, it banks for them and trades with Gita Prymes for that spirit angler piece.
Open Reward Caskets Opens reward caskets from the pool for their coins and loot, including banked ones on the next bank trip (up to 20 at a time). Off: caskets stay in the bank, unless a task is waiting for coins and the Earn coins when a task runs short preference is on.
Collect rewards amount Once you have at least this many unspent permits, it searches the reward pool until all are used. 0 means never (unless the goal option below is on).
Collect at level Only collects rewards once Fishing is at least this level. 0 means any level.
Collect rewards when goal met When the “To” level is reached, it finishes the game, then spends every permit before the task counts as done.
Hop after games (Solo only) Hops to a random world after this many games. 0 means never. Never hops to world 422.

Searching the reward pool needs a small fishing net and 2 free slots. It takes a net from your bank, or from the net at the reward pool if you don’t have one.

The task ends when Fishing reaches the “To” level and you’re out of the game. With Collect rewards when goal met on, it also waits until no permits are left.

Collect catches one fish until your account owns the amount you enter. Pick the fish, then type how many to own. Raw fish already in your bank or inventory count.

Fish Fishing level How it’s caught
Raw shrimps 1 Small net, banked
Raw anchovies 15 Small net, banked
Raw trout 20 Fly fishing, banked
Raw salmon 30 Fly fishing, banked
Raw karambwan 65 Karambwan vessel at fairy ring DKP, banked in Zanaris

Shrimps, anchovies, trout and salmon use the same small net and fly fishing loops as Auto, at the account’s own spot, including the net pickup and the rod and feather buying. Feathers are bought for the fish still to collect. Only the fish you picked counts toward the amount, but anything else caught is banked too.

The task can’t start below the fish’s Fishing level. It’s done once you own the amount.

Tick this to cook the catch in the same task once the amount is owned. Cooked fish count toward the amount, so cooking never sends it back to fishing. Every raw one of that fish is then cooked, using the same cooking as the Cooking task.

Fish Cooking level
Shrimps, anchovies 1
Trout 15
Salmon 25
Karambwan 30, plus Tai Bwo Wannai Trio

If your Cooking level (or the quest, for karambwan) isn’t there by the time the fishing is done, the cooking is skipped, the fish stay raw and the task finishes.

Karambwan has extra requirements. The task waits with a message until all are met:

  • Membership and 65 Fishing.
  • Fairy rings unlocked, plus a dramen or lunar staff (it’s worn for the fairy rings).
  • Tai Bwo Wannai Trio finished, or a karambwan vessel already owned.

How it runs:

  1. Banking in Zanaris. It banks in Zanaris and travels by fairy ring to DKP. It takes the vessel, your karambwanji and a fish barrel if you own one. It wears the staff, your best fishing outfit (spirit angler, angler or graceful), an Ardougne cloak and Rada’s blessing if you have them.
  2. Vessel. With no vessel, it takes 2 coins and buys one from Tiadeche in Tai Bwo Wannai.
  3. Bait. When you’re out of karambwanji, or have fewer than a trip needs, it brings a small fishing net and nets karambwanji at the spot beside fairy ring CKR. It nets a batch sized from the karambwan still to catch and drops the raw shrimps the spot also gives. With no net owned, it picks one up in Lumbridge Swamp.
  4. Fishing. It baits the vessel and fishes at DKP until the inventory is full. With a fish barrel it opens the barrel first, so a trip holds 24 karambwan in the pack plus 28 in the barrel.
  5. Back at the Zanaris bank, it empties the barrel into the bank and deposits the catch.

Fish in the barrel only count toward the amount once they’re banked. With Cook them after collecting on, it empties the barrel at a bank before it starts cooking.

Any gives each account its own route: small net fishing up to a switch level between 20 and 28 (chosen per account), then fly fishing to your goal. Both stages work as described under Auto, with the account’s own spot. Any never plays Tempoross. See Account seeds for how per-account choices work.
