Magic

Ironman AIO has two Magic methods. Arceuus Library trains Magic from level 1 by finding books for the library’s customers, with no runes or coins needed. High Alch casts High Level Alchemy on items in your bank until none of the items you chose are left.

To add one, pick Magic in Setup, choose a method and fill in its options. Arceuus Library takes a level range. High Alch has no level range: it runs until it has alched everything you asked for.

The script works the Arceuus Library in Great Kourend. It gets book requests from customers, finds the books on the shelves, hands them in and reads the reward books for Magic XP.

What you need: no Magic level, runes or coins. The library is in Kourend, so the account needs membership.

Step by step:

  1. Banking. At the start it banks your inventory and any worn gear. It wears graceful pieces you own (or boots of lightness if you have no graceful boots) and takes no food or coins. Library books already in your inventory stay with you.
  2. Getting a request. It walks to Villia or Professor Gracklebone and asks what book they want. It takes turns between them and skips the customer it just helped. If the script was restarted while a request was still open, it goes back to the customer who gave it.
  3. Finding the book. If it already knows which shelf holds the book, it searches that shelf. If not, it searches shelves one by one to work out the library’s layout. Each shelf it searches tells it more about where the other books are.
  4. Collecting extra books on the way. Once it has the requested book, it also picks up other books whose shelves it knows if they are within a few tiles of its path. That way the next requests can be handed in straight away. It carries up to 12 of these extras and always keeps a free slot.
  5. Handing it in. It takes the book back to the customer and accepts the reward.
  6. Reading the reward books. Customers reward you with books of arcane knowledge. When reading one, the script always picks Magic. It doesn’t read each book straight away: it saves a few (each account has its own batch size, from 1 to 5) and reads them together. It also reads them early if the books it holds are enough to reach your target level.

Other things it handles:

  • Full inventory: when your inventory is full, it drops a library book other than the one it’s fetching.
  • Too much other stuff: if more than 12 slots hold things that aren’t library books, it goes to the bank to clear them.
  • Shifting shelves: when the game says the books have moved, the script hops to another world and then works out the new layout.
  • World hops: the script’s random anti-ban world hops are skipped while you’re in the library.

When it’s done: the task runs while your Magic level is within the level range you set. It finishes when you reach the target level and have no unread books of arcane knowledge left. If it reaches the target with books still in the inventory, it reads them first.

The same library is also a Runecrafting method. That version reads the reward books for Runecrafting XP instead.

The script casts High Level Alchemy on items from your bank, starting with the most valuable.

What you need:

  • 55 Magic.
  • The standard spellbook. The script doesn’t switch spellbooks for you.
  • Nature runes, plus fire runes or a fire source (see below). If you don’t have enough runes, it buys them from a shop with your coins.

Choosing items. The Select items by dropdown has two modes:

Mode What gets alched
Minimum high alch value Every item in your bank and inventory whose high alch value is at least the number you enter (default 1,000).
Item IDs Only the items whose IDs you type, separated by commas. All copies are alched.

With Minimum high alch value, you also get Leave one of each item (on by default). It keeps one of each matching item in your bank. In Item IDs mode, every copy is alched.

Some items are never alched, whatever you choose: coins, nature runes, fire runes, staves that give fire runes, and the tome of fire. Items you’re wearing aren’t touched either.

Step by step:

  1. Bank scan. It opens the bank and finds every item that matches your choice. It gets each item’s high alch value from the game itself. If it can’t read the value of an item that looks like it might pass your limit, the task is blocked rather than guessing.
  2. Runes and fire source. It carries your nature runes. For fire, it uses a fire staff you’re wearing or a tome of fire you have equipped. If you aren’t wearing either, it wears your best fire staff from the bank, or your tome of fire. If you have neither, it carries fire runes, 5 per cast.
  3. Buying runes. It wants runes for every item left to alch, counting at most 250 casts at a time. If you own fewer, it buys the difference from a shop with your coins. If you don’t have the coins, the task is blocked with “not enough coins to buy High Alch runes”.
  4. Withdrawing items. It withdraws as many of the most valuable matching item as will fit next to the runes.
  5. Casting. It closes the bank and alchs the items in your inventory, most valuable first. Then it goes back to the bank for the next item.

When it’s done: when no matching items are left in your bank or inventory. With Leave one of each item on, any last copies in the inventory go back to the bank first. The task is blocked, and doesn’t run, while you’re under 55 Magic or not on the standard spellbook.
